The Exact Formula to Calculate Delay Time from BPM
The core formula is simple:
Quarter note (ms) = 60,000 ÷ BPM
Example at 120 BPM: 60,000 ÷ 120 = 500 ms (one quarter note).
From the quarter note you can derive every other value:
- Eighth note = quarter ÷ 2
- Sixteenth note = quarter ÷ 4
- Dotted note = straight × 1.5
- Triplet = straight × (2/3)
